Under Story

Understory is a one-of-one sculptural concrete piece built around raw texture, irregular form, and contrast. Three individually formed slabs layer together to create a rugged, stone-like foundation, while the upper piece features a hand-shaped recessed center framed by two contrasting formations.

Every edge, indentation, uneven surface, and natural imperfection is intentionally left visible, giving the piece the feeling of something unearthed rather than manufactured. The individual layers can be stacked as a sculptural statement or separated and arranged to reveal each form on its own.

Handmade by Black Earth Craft, this piece will never be reproduced exactly—once it’s gone, this particular formation is gone.
